A chance for you to find out more about Cllr R McKee currently the Vice Chair of the Housing Council.
How long have you been a member of the Housing Council and what other involvements do you have?
I have served on the Housing Council for 25 years and have represented the Housing Council on the Housing Executive Board for 10 years.
What would you say have been the biggest challenges to the Housing Council?
I believe the biggest challenge to the Housing Council is the Housing Selection Scheme.
I’m sure you have seen many changes over the years. What strikes you as the biggest change and do you think it is for the better?
Yes there have been many changes over the years. The biggest change has been the closer working relationship with the staff and Councillors.
If you could make one major change to the Housing Council before you leave what would it be?
To ensure that everyone has the same opportunity to housing provisions.
What is your fondest memory over the years at Housing Council?
My fondest memory has been the chance to form close working relationship with all councillors and all parties.
Any funny stories of your time there?
The late Jack Allen tied his wheelie bin to the back of his BMW and forgot about it and took it from Armagh to Antrim.
Which well known individual do you admire and why?
The late Cecil Noble.
What is your worst experience in housing?
I don’t think I have had a bad experience.
You wouldn’t know it but I’m very good at talking!!
