Housing Council has first meeting with Social Development Committee Chair.

The Chairman, Gerry Gallagher, Vice-Chair, Jim Brown and Member, Brendan Curran have had a private meeting with Simon Hamilton, Chairman of the Social Development Committee at Stormont.
This is the first time the Housing Council has had the opportunity to have discussions with Mr Hamilton around a range of housing matters. Discussions focused on the Housing Council’s Convention report ‘Bridging the Gaps’ and the recently published Key Issues report from the Housing Commission.
Speaking after the meeting the Chairman said the meeting had been constructive and that he had been impressed by Mr Hamilton’s obvious knowledge of housing matters and his enthusiasm for moving forward in new and innovative ways. The parties agreed to meet again early in the new year, following publication of the Housing Commission’s final report.
